Project Summary:
Green Door Distilling in Kalamazoo, MI contacted us looking for an American made mash cooker. The design includes a hydrofoil type top mounted mixer and internal helical cooling coil. The bottom drain uses one of our "remoted" butterfly valves which is easy to access while stopping product from entering the drain pipe immediately at the bottom of the dish. Without this feature, the distiller would have to reach far under the hot vessel as opposed to conveniently near the edge. Craft Automation went on to develop an automated temperature control system for steam and cooling. This cooker has a laser welded dimple jacket for steam heating and we can also do direct steam injection.
